Terms of service

ResearchGuru.AI · Last updated

These terms apply when you use researchguru.ai and its tools. By creating an account or using the tools you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Questions: researchguruai@gmail.com.

The service

ResearchGuru.AI provides AI-assisted tools for academic research and writing: plagiarism and AI-content checks, a humanizer and paraphraser, citation and BibTeX tools, journal finding, LaTeX formatting, presentations and more. We keep improving the tools, so features can change, and we may suspend a tool for maintenance or safety.

Accounts

Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us a real email address — we use it for sign-in codes and receipts. Guests can use the free tier without an account.

Tokens, plans and payment

  • The free plan includes a monthly token allowance. Paid plans add tokens and features as described on the pricing page.
  • Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe or PayPal.
  • You can change or cancel your plan at any time; email us if you need help with it.
  • If a tool fails and does not deliver a result, the tokens for that run are not used up. For billing problems or refund requests, email us — consumer rights that apply where you live are not affected by these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use ResearchGuru.AI to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights;
  • pass off work you did not write as your own where your institution, journal or publisher forbids it, or otherwise commit academic misconduct;
  • upload malware, or try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits and security of the service;
  • resell or share access to the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Your content

You keep all rights in what you upload and in the results the tools give you. You give us permission to store and process your content to run the tools for you, as described in our privacy policy — including keeping papers checked by PlagLab in its comparison vault, which you can ask us to remove. Only upload content you have the right to use.

AI output and checks

AI tools can be wrong. Rewritten text, summaries, citations, journal suggestions and scores need your review before you rely on them. Similarity and AI-content scores are estimates from our own engines and will differ from other checkers, including those your institution uses; they are not a finding of misconduct and no tool can guarantee how another checker will score a text. You are responsible for following the rules of your institution, journal or publisher, including any rules on disclosing AI assistance.

Third-party services

Some features rely on outside services such as scholarly databases, AI model providers, payment providers and sign-in providers. Their own terms apply to what they do, and we are not responsible for their availability or content.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost opportunities. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending your use

You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access if you break these terms or if we have to for legal or security reasons.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell signed-in users before it takes effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
